Spark Your Music Career With An All-Inclusive Artist Management Grant
When it comes to the music industry it’s not what you know – or who you know. It’s both.
Fortunately for aspiring First Nations, Inuit and Métis artist managers, a new initiative from APTN (Aboriginal Peoples Television Network) and Canada’s Music Incubator at Coalition Music has you covered. Open to emerging artist managers, self-managed artists and transitioning industry professionals, the eight-week Artist Manager Professional Development Program will provide two recipients with customized and ongoing mentorship from some of the best in the business. All expenses paid.
In addition to transportation, accommodations and a weekly living allowance, the recipients will be given the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills in specific areas, including touring, booking, talent-buying, event production, contract negotiation, budgeting, accounting, artist development, marketing, radio promotion, publicity and more. Each grant is valued at $15,000.
• Application deadline is Sept. 23, 2016;
• Recipients must be available to attend the program from Nov. 1, 2016 to Dec. 21, 2016, at Canada’s Music Incubator at Coalition Music, 1731 Lawrence Ave. East, in Toronto;
• The program runs Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and is offered in English.
