Iskwé: Give Me Some Room
Since dropping her self-titled debut album in 2013 – a project that spanned eight fundamental and formative years – Iskwé has been striving for a sound that better suits her soulful stage presence.
On a sizzling day in August 2016, she found it.
Stepping into Hamilton’s Catherine North Studios with only the skeleton of an idea, she emerged more than 12 hours later with a song as spirited and intense as the session itself.
But Give Me Some Room is so much more than just another single. In addition to being one of Iskwé’s most raw and powerful recordings to date, the track is reflective of her maturity and evolution as an artist. In the latest episode of DD Studio Sessions, we take you behind the scenes of her session and share the story behind the song.
